I guess this is a Yearly Update :)
We have another cruise planned for November 2nd for 7 days on the Conquest. We were supposed to be on the Ecstasy on September 20th but Hurricane Ike came roaring in and caused too many problems to deal with. I am looking forward to a 7 dayer but was really disappointed in not getting to meet all the really cool people I had been chatting with prior to the canceled cruise. We are still supposed to meet up with one couple - you know who you are :). It was also a bummer to have to pay for a cruise and not get to go on it but we were so blessed in the fact that we did not have any damage (except fences and a satellite dish slightly ripped from the roof).
In the middle of all the Hurricane crisis the cheerleaders are still going strong and will be doing two competitions in November. They were rescheduled because of Ike and one competition was stuck on the day we sail and Homecoming is falling on the 8th and we will still be gone. I have stressed so much over this but what's done is done and I can't lose another cruise - I can't afford it. We have been so busy with preparations and practices that I haven't hardly had time to think about the cruise (well not the time that I normally would spend :) )
So the morning of the cruise will be like this..... Well, let's back up. The night before when I would normally be running around in my usual OCD state making sure everything is spotless and all lists, and lists of lists were made, I will actually be entertaining 13 girls and 2 coaches for a sleepover!! And all the parents that will come by and stay and chat before leaving. And then all these girls will be getting up (after not ever really going to bed) to take showers, put on makeup, hairspray, and God knows what (half of which will land on the floor). We will then leave to be at competition before the sun is even up to spend a whole day. Except that somewhere in that caos I am supposed to have put my luggage (all 80 pieces) in a vehicle that will have too many girls and all their stuff. I will also be at a competion and have to leave before I get to see my peanut perform. She is not real happy with me but she is doing the best she can.
So if anyone happens to be on this same sailing, I will be easy to spot. I will be the woman with most of her hair missing, the few pieces that are left will be white, and I will probably not have any clothes on because the luggage may not have made it to the vehicle.
